What is Codegeist?

Codegeist is Atlassian’s annual hackathon where developers from around the world unleash creativity on Forge, Atlassian’s serverless app development platform. By extending Atlassian products with custom apps and integrations, participants reimagine how teams plan, track, and deliver work.

The Challenge

AI can think. But knowing what to do – really knowing – takes context. Atlassian’s Teamwork Graph connects goals, work, people, decisions, and outcomes like associative memory for your organization, giving teams the shared understanding of who’s doing what, what’s already been decided, and what needs to happen next.

That's the problem Atlassian is built to solve. And it's the problem we're inviting you to tackle.

Build an app on Atlassian’s Forge platform that uses that context to help teams ship with confidence – whether that’s surfacing the right knowledge at the right moment, connecting work across silos, or turning organizational data into a decision that actually moves work forward.

Requirements

What to Build

Build an app using Atlassian’s Forge platform and integrate with at least one Atlassian product or platform capability (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, Teamwork Graph, Rovo) in one of the following categories.

Categories
  • Apps for Software Teams: Give dev teams the context to ship with confidence. Think smarter code reviews, deployment awareness, issue triage that actually understands what matters.

  • Apps for Business Teams: Give business teams the context to act decisively. Help colleagues in marketing, sales, HR, finance, support, or legal move faster with the right information in front of them.

  • Apps for Specialized Industries: Give experts in healthcare, finance, manufacturing, automotive, or other fields the context to do their best work. Turn insider knowledge into solutions built for your world.

Bonus Prizes
  • 6 Best Agents - Rovo/Assignable agents: $1500 to 6 projects that use a Forge app including the rovo:agent module, the rovo:agentConnector module, or apps with reusable rovo:skill and rovo:action modules that other agents can invoke as tools.

  • 6 Best app with Atlassian MCP: $1500 to 6 projects that use a Forge app exposing an MCP server.

  • 6 Best apps with Teamwork Graph integration: $1500 to 6 projects that connects data into the graph and/or consumes data from the TWG API.

  • 6 Best Marketplace published app: $1500 to 6 projects that must be published to the Marketplace or submitted for listing. Provide either the link to the listing or link to the Marketplace review ticket.
